Finding wholesale toy suppliers

Finding good, reliable and cheap wholesalers can be a never ending task. They are however 'out there'. Most people endlessly trawl the internet trying to find companies who can supply toys and other goods that can then be sold on Ebay or through personal websites only to find that there are scores of fake or dummy sites selling useless or out of date information. Another option is to explore industrial estates in the hopes of finding reputable suppliers. This can be rewarding as many wholesalers do not activly advertise so can be hard to find but it is of course time consuming. The traditional cash + carry or wholesaler will normally only supply retailers so you would have to prove you are in the trade and not just a member of the public looking for bargains. This is obviously no good for the stay at home mum who wants to start a website selling party goods so alternaives must be found. The options are limited but nevertheless available. Scour Ebay and other auction sites for wholesale toys as there are suppliers out there who will sell to you in bulk. I even recently found a seller from China who was willing to sell in bulk and the profit margins were amazing! If that doesnt work then try going to a trade show (Sping Fair, Excel, Harrogate) as you can meet potential suppliers face to face and explain your position and requirements. If you are a start up business you will of course have to expect to pay for goods upfront as it is unlikely that anyone will open credit accounts for you. There is money to be made if you can find the right goods at the right price from the right people. Good luck!
