Doctors in Haiti are appealing medial supplies for suffering Caribbean nation, Haiti which was stricken by Tuesday's 7.0 earthquake. This country is in dire medial need to tackle the consequences o quake's chaos and devastation.

Doctors Without Borders/Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) teams appeared in the country and worked on medial projects. They were the first to take action.

According to a teleconference call, Paul McPhun, MSF's operation director for Haiti said that they paid special attention on the rapid influx of patients, adding that their current strength was first aid care and stabilization.

Doctors Without Borders which has around 800 medical staff in the nation, initially set up three areas in Port-au-Prince to supply urgent care. McPhun said that they had to set up at damaged centers to treat the severely injured. The estimated number of people received treatments reached 800 up to 900 at three sites. Many of them suffered from head wounds and burns.

According to a senior MSF staff member's description of chaotic situation, there were many injured and dead people. Electricity was cut off in some parts of the city; people gathered outdoor, lighted fires in the street, and consoled each other; there were hundreds of thousands of homeless people sleeping in the open; and people with factures and head injuries could not get proper surgery at that time.

Reestablishment of quick surgical capacity is the prerequisite, so a 100-bed hospital with inflatable surgical unit is being sent. This hospital includes two operating rooms and seven hospitalization tents. McPhun said that additional 70 international staff with specialties over few following days responded to urgent medical demands.

Dr. Michael Anderson, a senior medical officer with National Disaster Medical System, who could be sent to Haiti, said that his colleague and he would attempt to organize a two-prong attack including identification of children's hospitals there in the U.S and willing medial professionals.

According to IRC, a third of Haiti's population was in emergency aid and it would take more than a day to clear dark picture of the damage. Anderson said that this disaster brought Haitians down initial injuries and following widespread diseases like cholera, E.coli, and others because of tainted water and improper living conditions.
