It’s five o’clock and the hustle of people going home after a long days work is deafening.
Am outside the building where I work, waiting for a bus as usual trying to get into the city center to run an errand-I know its too late, but work has been consuming me. I ponder so hard whether to catch the first bus that has just arrived and decide that it’s not worth it, so I continue my wait.
Across the road is a restaurant, classy enough I can say, but guess what I see? (Am not against anybody when I say this so if this has any relation to you, believe me, am not pointing fingers at you). So I was saying, there is a full grown man, light skinned in a green shirt, a half coat and a bow tie, gawking at me like am a piece of prey, oh the horror.
It doesn’t stop, suddenly my phone rings, and its my friend flashing from across the road, so I frantically wave at her and gesture a few crazy things. On concentrating on how am going to catch a bus, people are increasing by the moment, so I tell myself that I will wait for them to reduce and then I can catch the next one with ease.
Coming back to the gawking guy, at this point he is winking like a crazy dog and pointing me to his friends who don’t seem to be paying attention to him. He has even decided that now he will put his feet to the grills, I don’t know what kind of signal he is trying to pass or whether its kind of a message that am supposed to understand. Surely he should be embarrassed. I mean some men really go along way to embarrass themselves, I think to myself.
No sooner has the thought crossed my mind than coming along that path is a well dressed, clean shaven drop dead gorgeous man in a plain blue suit, a newspaper in hand and a packet of Dunhill cigarettes in hand. Looking at his fingernails, they are well manicured and very well maintained. I wish I had a thing for people who smoke but unfortunately I don’t (no offence to any smokers out there, its just that every person has his or her own preferences, so that’s mine, but here and there one might re-consider).
Here is another scene; I have finally entered the bus, its already past six. As soon as I enter the bus, there is this crazy perverted guy who just stares at my chest like some sick puppy, so I decide not to sit next to him because he may decide that he is too uncomfortable to sit well and fold his arms and try to get a feel of me by poking me with his elbows, (I feel you brothers but sometimes do you have to be so damn obvious?)
I switch my seat and seat the second last seat from behind, next to me is a decent looking dude, the ride goes well until when the conductor asks for the fare, I remove my wallet from my bag and try to see if I have coins to pay, to avoid breaking the note I had.
Immediately I remove the first coins, the car hits a bump and all the coins spill to the floor of the car. Here I am cursing my head off then the stranger next to me says, “Don’t worry I’ll pick them for you”.
I think to myself that is so sweet. He picks all my coins and since they are enough to cater for my fare, he takes the liberty to pay for me.” Thanks” I say to him.
So ladies there you have it, three or four scenes of the crazy men that are out there, whom would you prefer? My view and opinion would be (please quote the key word here is MY meaning individual), none of the above because yes as women we look for the aspect of a gentleman but remember, you can be a gentleman but what lies underneath is even worse than expected.
For the first guy, a little advice would be, if that is how you pick up girls then you have a long way to go, and when I say a long one, I mean a really looooooooong one.
Dudes am not against you but there are some of you out there that make the male species look bad yet there are decent men out there, all men are not the same but they all think a like and that’s the difference.
Women don’t go saying that all men are dogs, some are sweet puppies but the all belong to the dog family.
Am left to wonder what today’s scene will be like, but will keep you posted.
Love which is considered as the blessings of God makes life worthwhile. A proposal for love is a glorious moment in every couple's life to monumentalize love and honor the pillars of relationship.
